What is the exhilarant all artists thrive upon when seeking inspiration? Perhaps “fame”, “expression”, “influence” are tough contenders, but these build merely the kindling of the artist’s process. The primary combustion rests solely on visualization. In other words, the ability to see beyond what is and find what could be. Woah. Getting a little philosophical here! 😉
Take a look at the image below. What do you see? Perhaps a fair woman dressed straight from a Fairy-Tale, hastily fleeing a near castle. Of course, you’d be 100% correct! However, you’d be lacking the other side of the penny. What about the possibility of what could be.
Could the woman be edited from this image and inserted into a mirage of meticulously detailed composition to tell a more telling tale? Maybe that of a cursed princess, unknowingly destined to wed a man of abrasive nature, fleeing the fire-y remains of her temporary refuge from a ruthless dark night sent to murder her because of the prophecy sanctioned upon her at birth. Then again, maybe someone dove head first into The Witcher series on Netflix!
Regardless, this month’s series is dedicated to the wonders-that-be, Composite Photographers. Take a stroll through a mere glimpse of what the inner workings of the process entail, the inspiration and visualization required to create a piece, and more. Welcome to our mind’s imagination…
